Does lifting weights can also help increase the fast twitch muscle fibers of a sprinter runner?

We both know that sprinter use plyometric exercises to increase their fast twitch muscle and fibers and they also do a lot of sprints to have more additional fast twitch muscles. But I just wonder if lifting weights for the legs can also help increase my fast twitch muscles by dong Squats?|||Nothing can increase the number of fast (or slow) twitch muscle fibers. The training you mention sprinters doing strengthen the fibers they have, make them thicker or reinforce the neuro pathways (plyometrics) but nothing can increase the number of fibers you are born with.|||Well i don't think it possible to increase your Fibers, at least not in this universe.

But speed wise is another solution,

a sprinter can get faster lifting weight by not over lifting your limit.

You don't want to make your fibers to thicken up too much, it will then make you slower.

For a sprinter the trick is to lift a conferable light weight the most you can.

So doing that over time you will see improvement in your speed speed.|||I'm not sure about this one, but if you lift weights, you develop your muscles, therefore you would have more control over your muscles and body, therefore you can increase your muscle twitching. But I don't think that you can increase your muscle fibers though, and that it is not advisable to lift too much weight.
