Hello all!!! Will be buying a Sprinter LWB van and need to know if I need to upgrade my UK driving license issued in 2006 which allows me to drive up to category B1?What UK license required to drive Mercedes Sprinter LWB with 1.5tonne load inside?

Unless you have taken the extra test for a heavy traier you have this -

So if the Sprinter has a maximum authorised mass (van with full load) less than 3500 kgs then you can drive it. If it is over 3500kgs you need a

Vehicles weighing between 3,500 kg and 7,500 kg, with or without a trailer - weighing no more than 750 kg which requires a small lorry test which I guess you have not done or you would not be asking this.

It seems like you will need a B catagory...click the link..then ignore the "Passed your driving test before 1 January 1997" that you see there, it is a seperate link..read the rest.
