Is it beneficial for a sprinter to train on a cinder track?

My competitions will generally be on synthetic tracks but does running on a softer/rugged surface help in muscle/speed development, or will it just be detrimental? Is it beneficial for a sprinter to train on a cinder track?
yupp, a softer track puts less pressure on your knees and you'd have to use more muscle to drive on.
