I am running track this year for the first time as freshmen to try to get faster for soccer ,which i have been playing forever, because im not a very fast sprinter and i want to know how to get faster sooner.|||dude theres two ways:
1- steriods, i dont recommend this
2- train your *** off (recommended) oh yeah i personally know usain bolt so thats that|||Just get stronger and run under distance top speed sprints. Running speed is determined almost entirely by the ability to apply isometric muscle support force into the ground so you don't collapse at the ankle/knee resulting in shorter ground contact times. Try leg presses where you lift the weight with both legs but hold in place with one leg, on ball of foot, knee slightly bent. Hold as much weight as you can for 10-20 seconds. Do 3-6 holds on each leg once or twice a week. Altitude drops are also good. Jump off a chair and land on the balls of feet, knees slightly bent. Start with a few reps until you get used to the force of landing. Also run short under distance sprints to apply the strength faster and improve the storage and release of elastic energy.|||Definitely strength / conditioning. Lift weights to strengthen your arms (which need to pump as you sprint so it takes away stress from your legs so you have more capacity/energy). Pushups and crunches are always good to strengthen your core, which is really important. Run sets of 30 meters, 40 meters, and 50 meters. RUN HILLS. they're painful and exhausting, but they really truly help strengthen your entire body and speed you up.
hope this helps! and good luck!
