How do you find the average speed of a sprinter from a velocity-time graph?

I am asked to find the AVERAGE speed of an athlete and values for velocity and time are given in a velocity-time graph how do I find the AVERAGE speed, average.

Thanks for your helpHow do you find the average speed of a sprinter from a velocity-time graph?
If there are any negative regions of the graph, immediately give them a flip to positive. That is how you make your velocity vs time graph be a speed vs time graph.

Then, find the AREA under the curve until the horizontal axis. This "area" represents total distance travelled.

Now, divide that total distance travelled by the time it takes to travel it.
