What needs to happen for a 100 metre sprinter to record zero (0) acceleration in the 50-100m metre section of the race?|||The sprinter needs to maintain a constant speed during that section of the race. Hopefully, that'll also be because the sprinter is maxed out.|||This is only a small variant on your previous two questions.

The power required to keep the legs moving and to overcome air resistance is exactly equal to the power the athlete is able to supply.

This means neither an increase nor a reduction in kinetic energy.

Which in turn means a constant speed.
