When it comes to running I have amazing endurance but I'm slow. How can I speed up and become a fast sprinter?

I always thought endurance was greater than speed but most races last for 1 block - not 1 mile. That's what screws me over. How can I become a faster sprinter?|||I did cross country last fall, and i also had trouble with my sprinting. To improve our speed we did a couple of things:

We did pyramids up and down hills: We found a good sized hill and ran up and down it once. We stopped for twenty seconds or so and then we ran up and down twice without stopping. Once again we'd rest for twenty more seconds. Next we ran up and down 3, then 4, then 5 times with twenty second rests in between. Then we'd make our way down the scale running up and down 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 time with rests in between.

We also ran across a soccer field: for the first half we jogged and the second half we sprinted, then we'd turn around, jog to the center line and sprint to the end line. We'd do this for about five minutes and then rest. You should probably repeat this two or three times with two minute rests in between.

I hope these work for you! You might also be able to find workouts online that help make you faster. Good luck with your sprinting! I hope I helped!|||You can work on your form or technique, and practice sprinting, get stronger, and improve your sprint endurance, but we are limited by our genes, meaning that sprinters are born, not made.

You are either fast or you are not fast, so you can only improve so much.
