I really like football, but my high school never had a football program. I am a very talented sprinter and if I get a scholarship to a good school for being a track sprinter, do you think I would have any chance of being on the football team? I am just as fast or faster than the average football team's fastest runners, so can I play?|||yes, it can.|||Yes, but
1) Talk to your track coach and make sure it is okay with him or her. That is where your scholarship money is coming from, and they may not be okay with the chance of you injuring yourself playing football.
2) Talk to the football coach and see if the team accepts walk-ons
OR, this is a bit of a long shot, but market yourself to college football coaches. If you are really that fast, and have some football experience (even if not high school), they may want you on their team. College football coaches are allowed many more scholarships than men's track coaches. I have heard stories of professional sprinters being propositioned by NFL teams.|||I dunno. Can you? Can you hold onto the ball when you get smacked by a 200 pound cornerback running at full tilt? How about getting stuffed at the line by a 260 pound linebacker? Can you avoid the free safety, and juke him ,even though he can run a 4.5 second forty? The only way you can find out is to talk to the coach and suit up, kid.
?? who cares what you think I did or didnt do in HS in the late 80s. Tool.|||LMAO!
There's little chance you getting a track scholarship. The NCAA allows only 12.5 track scholarships and usually seven of those go to long distance runners.

You lie sh铆t too. You never played football.
