How do you become a better sprinter?

I run crosscountry, but when I try to sprint I'm terrible at it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to become a faster sprinter?|||Hi! Have you tried to do 'Fartlek' training during your normal runs? This is a method of training which has it's origins in Scandanavia. You run for so long at your normal pace and then run as fast as you can for a given period of time. Then recover and repeat several times during your run. For example: run for 5 minutes at normal pace, run as fast as you can for 90 seconds, then recover for 5 minutes and repeat however many times your run allows or until you feel like you have had enough. Also hill running is a great way to srengthen the muscles that you need to sprint! Good luck!
